Default Pre cruise stay Port of Miami

I know this question gets asked alot but I cannot find it. Were booked on the Liberty of the Seas for the 07/18/09 sailing out of Miami. I was wondering if there is a hotel to stay the night before close to the port that offers a shuttle to the terminal and will let me park my car at their property hence skating the port parking.

most likely no.

the places in town will charge and arm and a leg for parking...you MAY find something by the airport but some of those hotels are really lousy!

You can try a La Quinta (sorry, i forget what one....East maybe??) And there is a Towne Place Suites by Marriott that another person is trying...but i do not know about a shuttle.....

Other than that, looks like you will be stuck paying to park at the pier.

None of the hotels in Miami offer shuttle service anymore. I know there are some in Fort Lauderdale - we stayed at the Ramada Inn Airport. They offer a shuttle to the Fort Lauderdale Pier. They don't to Miami but where I was getting at - you could use their package and take a cab to the Miami pier Certainly their rates were good.

I don't think this helps you much but I do know the hotels in Miami are extremely dear. Even if you can get a package you are going to pay through the nose.

Thanks cruiser meg and felix the cat. Its the first time sailing out of Miami and were coming from Tampa. I just dont want to make the six hour drive early in the morning and get stuck in traffic or breakdowns etc. then miss the ship. Ill try my best to try and find a parking deal and advise if I do for others. Otherwise Ill eat the port parking rates.

When we went on the Liberty in September we spent the night at the Intercontinental it was right by the port and had incredible views of the port. There was no shuttle but was a quick taxi ride away. It was also really exciting to watch the ships pulling into and out of port. Ask for a room on a higher floor with view of the port and you wont be dissapointed. The hotel is also in walking distance to the bayside marketplace (I think that is what it was called) and there is shopping and several places to eat there.

Hi Ports,
You may want to give Priceline a try, something in Downtown Miami. Its true, there were no hotels that offered shuttles to the pier, but most were very close to the pier, so it was a short taxi ride.

Good luck with the parking issue..

In response to Donna and addicted2, thanks for the info. Addicted2, did the Intercontental allow you to park at their property for the seven days you were cruising or did they charge you a fee?

We flew into Miami and taxied to the hotel so I don't know what their parking is like. Sorry, look them up online and give them a call I know we weren't the only pre-cruisers there so maybe they will have some helpful info. Great hotel though, good luck.

unless you can get a package you are going to have to pay to park in a DT miami hotel as parking is at a premium.............some hotels barely have space for guests staying in the hotels let alone extra spots to give away for nothing....

good luck looking...

Hi Port!

Try Buyreservations.com they have packages for Miami hotel stay one nite and park. For example the Hyatt Airport is only $130. which includes the one nite and upto 3 weeks free parking. They might have free trans. to port (if not free then there is usually a low fee of $10. per person to the port). We stayed at the Hyatt in Fort Lauderdale and the trans to port was free.

These packages are called park/sleep/fly. However I don't know if it would be a problem since you are doing park/sleep/cruise.

Also if you google park/sleep/fly in Miami other companies will come up also.

Most of the hotels offering these packages are airport proterties however many of the airport hotels are very nice not by the port but they are nice hotels.

Enjoy the Liberty! I'll be cruising on her just a couple of weeks after you.

Good luck!!
