Default What ship in Galveston, TX after Voyager?

Yesterday I heard the long term plan for Galveston after the Voyager finishes her 3-year commitment next year. Looks like they are considering a Radiance class ship year round sailing from Galveston. I would actually be happy with that.

Hopefully they will be smart enough to schedule both 5-7-10 day cruises to make them different from the competition. (They also backdoor confirmed the Carnival 3rd ship rumor by mentioning what they are going to do to complete)

Looks like cruising from my home port will be improving A LOT in 2011.

That is some good news Snoozerman....Where will Voyager go after Galveston, do you know?

Didn't think to ask since I was concerned about Galveston. Good question though. I see the Indy will be in the UK year round so who knows what will happen to VY. Maybe just stay in Europe as well? Maybe Europe and somewhere here in USA as she does know.

We would like to sail on a Radiance class ship when it can be booked. Any idea on when that will be?

Whats was the hint on the 3rd CCL ship?

When I read your title Radiance class jumped right to my mind. They seem to be kicking them to the sidewalk now. (No offence please.)

Radiance are my favourite ships. It might even make me decide I might want to fly to Texas.

I've never sailed on Radiance class, but after the little meet I did do some research on them and I think I will be very happy. DW wants an enclosed solarium and I like most of the features I have seen. A lot of people in Texas were unhappy about our secret little Rhapsody leaving and this will be pleasing to many. I'll certainly give it a try.

BTW-come down anytime!

You'll love the Radiance class. It has the enclosed solaruim and the CL lounge (of course these days you have to be D+) as well as Chops & Portifino's (my memory is bad I think it has both). It also has the Seaview Cafe which is better than Johnny Rockets as far as I'm concerned. It's a beautiful ship and just the right size.

Texas is one of the states we haven't been to. We've tried a couple of times and something has always interfered!!! We wil get there though.

Does the Radiance class have any 'secret cabins' or balcony cabins I need to know about? i.e. on both Rhapsody & Voyager I try to get 7688 or 7388 which has the big balconies. Odd that it was the same cabin numbers on both ships even though are completely different classes. I need to find a new favorite.

There are a couple of JS's that are in the corners and have oversized balconies but I don't know which one's they are. DH doesn't like the aft area (we tried it once) so we stick the midships or somewhere along the side anyway.

Hi Snoozerman,
Actually the Radiance class has the best aft balcony cabins....None of the steel structures that the Voyager and Freedom have...So, any one of them would be great and huge!! This class of ship for its size is absolutely beautiful, I think you'll truly have a nice time.

How about Minnow of the Seas. Dave The Wave's vessel is a Radiance Class, isn't she?

Just to clarify, I believe the Voyager is retuning for a 4th season in Galveston, so the changes would be for fall of 2011. A strategy to compete with Carnival's 3rd ship in Galveston.
