Default Which is better Norwegian Jewel or RC Liberty of the Seas??

As a first time cruiser, I cannot decide between Norwegian Jewel or Royal Caribbean Liberty of the Seas. My 15 year old son will be joining my husband and me. I like the freestyle dining that the Jewel offers but I also like the activities Liberty of the Seas has. Any recommendations?

I think your 15yr. old will much prefer the Liberty and there is also "My Time Dinning" on the Liberty

Thanks. I know that the "experts" say that the Norwegian is best for first timers but I don't want him to get bored and make my life miserable.

Have to agree, Liberty would be great for a 15 year old boy. Nope, I don't think he'd be bored at all.

My first advice would be to post the same question on the NCL board to see the differences in the replies but since I have seen that you already have booked with NCL, no advice is needed!

The Liberty of the Seas is a beautifull exciting ship. We cruised on her once and shortly after booked it again. We are not youngsters (wish we were), but for teenagers it would be one of the best ships out there. The others being her sister ships Freedom OTS and Independence OTS.

I appreciate all responses but I decided to book Norwegian Jewel simply because I did not want to fly to catch Liberty of the Seas. Hopefully, we will have a great experience on our first cruise and will most definitely consider Liberty of the Seas next time.

cruzowitz...I hope you have a good time on your cruise but I will tell you that the Liberty of the Seas would have been a good choice for your family. There is no way a teenager or adult could get bored on this ship.

There is so much for anyone to do on these Freedom class ships, young and old. The pools are wonderful and the H2O Zone fantastic for kids and adults, The wave rider, full basketball court, miniture golf, ice skating, rock wall climbing are just a few things you will be missing.

Hopefully one day you will experience a Freedom Class ship and again, have a wonderful cruise on the Norwegian Jewel. Any cruise is a good cruise.
