We leave for the Adventure this Saturday. We have been upgraded to a grand suite and have stayed in suites before. Yesterday I received an email from the concierge to let us know of the services suite guests recieve, a very generic email but appreciated. Later I received a phone call from the concierge onboard the ship to let us know personally what services she can do for us and to let us know that she is looking forward to meeting us on Sunday. I was very impressed to receive a call especially since she is on a cruise already full of suite guests and busy with their requests. We have never had this kind of service before from any concierge and was wondering if anyone else has had phone calls or emails from the concierges. Thanks Vanessa for already providing great customer service even before our cruise begins.

Vanessa just replaced "DeDe" (going to "Brilliance" after her break) and is undoubtedly trying very hard to do her new job well. We have gotten e-mails but never a call plus an e-mail from dining to make sure our table arrangements were as we requested.
Even though the Diamond members were VERY upset with "RCI" for taking away the concierge service for them on most ships, I do give them credit for enhancing the suite experience. We just made sure that all the extras listed were available to us while travelling on "Adventure" because we do have clients who prefer the Grand suites (I know, tough duty and if the "IRS" has eyes on, we don't travel on T/A rates in a suite).
So I'm a Diamond Plus member with 32 cruise credits; did you get the "upgrade" to the Grand Suite because you are also a Diamond Plus member or did you pay for it? I have yet to be offered an upgrade, even though it's part of the Diamond Plus member program. I guess my sailings are either always sold out or someone else on the cruise has a higher number of cruise credits than me.
As for the communications from the concierge; I've sailed in Grand and Owner suites before and they always send at least an email (somewhat generic) before the cruise. In some instances, I've responded and asked them to do various things like set-up dinner at Chops, deliever a letter to guest cabins traveling in my group, etc. Generally, been really happy with the service; however, I've never received a phone call.

This will be our sixth cruise (10th and 11th credits) so we will be diamond members after this cruise. I called after noticing a second price reduction and when I called to have the price reduced was offered to be moved to a suite gaurantee room and have the price change as an on board credit. The next day we were assigned a Grand suite. We are also using our future cruise certificates from a problem we had with our room on a cruise in March on the Explorer (don't know if this has anything to do with the upgrade) We only paid $568 for this cruise for both of us because of the certificates so am surprised at the upgrade being given (twist my arm to stay in a Grand suite) We have been in suites on all but our first cruise and have never received an email or a call from the concierge so was surprised to get both. With the problem we had on the Explorer we have been extremely impressed with the customer service wether on that ship, later at home on there customer service line, and now with the concierge. Have never cruised with anyone other than royal and don't see any reason to ever cruise with anyone else.
