Default Guaranteed Cabins on RCI Question

We picked up our cruise docs for Enchantment at the end of Oct. This time, we booked a guaranteed inside cabin. This is the first guaranteed cabin I've ever booked. We went fairly cheap because the cabin is pretty much a bed and shower to us (we're not in room alot) especially a five day cruise.

When we picked up our docs, we found we were already assigned a cabin on deck 2 complete with luggage tags. Everything I had read before gave me the impression that your cabin on a guarantee isn't actually assigned to you until you arrive. No big deal, but is there a chance the cabin we have assigned now won't actually be the one we get? The one we have assigned now is a little closer to the rear of the ship than I would have selected on my own...But again no big deal and I realize that's what you may get when doing the guaranteed thing. I'm not looking for an upgrade etc..Just like to know where I'm going to be.

Also, noticed that our cabin is an "adjoining" one. I did some reading and found that most people said they really didn't find it made any difference. It's fine, I just thought they usually saved those for families (it's just me and wife). Anybody have any experience with adjoining?

I book Gty all the time. Most of the time I get assigned a cabin right away the last cruise I was assigned a cabin two days before.

Usually when they assign a cabin that will be your cabin.

The cabin I get assigned is always the cabin I end up in.

Enjoy your cruise!!

Thanks CQ. How did you like Enchantment when you went? When is your next cruise?

When you book a guarantee your cabin assignment will happen anytime between when you book and when you sail. Most of the time the cabin is assigned quite a few weeks before you sail.

If you book a guarantee within a week or so before the cruise then your chances of being assigned a cabin at the pier increase.

Having you cabin assigned at the pier is "Not" the norm. It does happen but not that often.

Have a great cruise.

Take care,
Mike

I also book this way quite often and have always received a cabin number before the cruise, never at the pier. I've heard of that happening, but I don't think that is the norm.

Have a great cruise, and I wouldn't worry about the ajoining door, shouldn't be a problem.

Ready I enjoyed the Enchantment. I do prefer the larger ships and Freedom Class ships are my favorite.
The pool area with the addition is great and the crew and service was good.
We had horrible weather on that cruise. It was cold and rainy the whole time.
Our ports on the 5 niter were Cozumel and Grand Cayman.

It is a nice cruise under 7 nites.

Mytime dining works very well on the Enchantment (if you are doing Mytime).

Hope the weather is great and you enjoy the cruise!

Next cruise might be in January will know better in a couple of weeks.
