It seems that not a lot of posts from fellow cruisemates about delivery of their cruise documents ever since all the major cruise lines have changed to EDocs and no longer mail paper docs. It's not as great, I guess, to say "I just downloaded my docs" as it was to get them in the mail.
Oh well, too bad because I just downloaded my docs for the Voyager OTS and I'm pretty excited!
Perhaps because the actual cruise documents are not really necessary anymore because all the information is available online and with every major cruise line now having a form of online check-in and some form of printed out boarding pass, docs are just not that important anymore so no one gets that excited.
Or maybe I'm wrong, does anybody else still get excited when they download their docs anymore?

I'm always excited to download my cruise docs. It signals that we are really ready to go and the trip is close. Sure, it was nice to get the lovely customized folder with docs, but in reality it really is simpler to print your own. I still havemy old HAL folder and just put my docs in that.
Sure I get excited when I have my luggage tags etc. I am excited for you. Have fun on your cruise.

No,. you don't need to take your docs with you. All they want is your passport and setsail pass. I only download page 1 for my clients and none for myself.

January 12/13 - Celebrity Reflection
41 cruises - too many to list however cruiselines are in no particular order:
Azamara
Uniworld
RCL
Princess
NCL
HAL
Cunard
Celebrity
and some unknown tub
Not quite the same thrill when the e-docs come as it was when they were mailed. However ordering the luggage tags and having them mailed is now when I do my luggage tag dance (formerly known as the doc dance.) My cruise on the 20th is the first I have had the e-docs. I understand why they changed and it really doesn't matter to me as long as we can still get the pre-printed luggage tags. I will only print one or two pages of the docs before leaving and will take them with the set sail passes (and passport) to the port. Happy cruising to all.

As far as mail vs computer downloads, I thought I would be the last hold out, as I was for airline tickets, but I now embrace them. One of the last times I got the mailed docs, they were in a large binder! I was given a mock leather tri fold HAL document holder, and I like to keep all the paperwork/passport, etc, together in that..not possible that time..

Lou, absolutely...skim it all,and zero in on things like..if the ship misses a port, if the ship gets chartered, and cancels your cruise, passenger rights etc...
Also, point out how trip insurance with medical evacuation, and trip interruption is in their best interest to buy...
