Default Oasis....WOW

We are back from our Oasis cruise and it really does deliver the Wow. The ship was absolutely amazing. There were so many things to do and with everything spread out in the different neighborhoods it was hard to believe that 6000 people were onboard. We saw the ice show, aquatheater, comedy and Up in the Air shows. The shows were some of the best we had seen onboard any ship. The first comedian was not the best we had heard but the second one was hilarious.
The food was great although we only ate in the main dining room the first night. The dining guide on the interactive tv's was very helpful. It lists all the restaurants and rates them on a thermometer (green, yellow, red) as to how busy they are at any time during the day. Very helpful when trying to decide where to eat.
The zip line was a blast, best advice is to do it the first few days onboard when there are no lines. The lines can get long on the last couple of sea days. I do have to mention that only me and my 17 year old son went on it. My hubby and15 year old were to chicken to do it. Hopefully RCCL can find a way to incorporate a zip line onto some of there other ships, and make them longer.
The flowrider was also great and especially with two of them. One had the stand-up surfing while the other had boogie boarding. It was fun to watch, and even funner when my kids were doing it. The mini golf course was also alot of fun and well laid out. The two areas with the ping pong tables were also great and much improved over other ships. More tables and in an enclosed area to keep the wind out (and the balls in). The only complaint I had was that the golf course and ping pong areas were not kept as neat, with golf clubs and balls left around the course, and the same with the ping pong area. Hard to believe that the cruisers weren't respectful enough to put their stuff away after playing.
We had an owners suite which was huge, and with two tv's, better than previous ones we had stayed in. The balcony was also huge and the balcony furniture was very comfortable. It was worth the extra money.
We didn't use any of the spa facilities. However we did use the fitness center which was full of all kinds of equipment. My hubby and boys did the boot camp classes and although it was tough workouts, they really enjoyed them. I just used the regular equipment in the gym. We are used to the fitness center being on the top deck with full length windows so it was a little different with it on deck six and with porthole windows. Even if you didn't use the fitness center, with the layout of the ship you end up doing alot of walking just going from one neighborhood to another.
Overall I rate this ship a 9.5 out of a ten. I can't rate it a ten because I know RCCL is still trying to out due and improve areas as they are building the Allure. I just can't wait until we can go on her again.

I am pretty sure I told people Oasis would be a hit. There was a lot of negativity out there, but in fact Oasis has held up better than most expected, even proponents.

Now, Epic is another story.

BTW: I think Allure will be even better.

Yes, you did say that the Oasis would be a hit. And you are not wrong very often.
