On our January 6th cruise on the Explorer of the Seas, Capt. Nysetter celebrated his 50th anniversary with Royal Caribbean. The celebration took place with his officers and the crew of the Explorer, but it was mentioned several times during the cruise.
By my calculations, this Captain must be 70 years old. His son, is the Captain of the Navigator of the Seas and has been a captain with RCL for 20 years.
He was a delight and was always out and about. Great cruise.
Royal Caribbean Cruise Line started in 1970 or 1971 with the Song of Norway, so they are around 40 years old!
