My husband and I traveled on the Legend about 4 yers ago when they did not have the verandas. I know they are supposed to be mini verandas. How small are they? Can you stand or sit out on them or are they like sliding glass doors?
We are booked on a 2 week Legend cruise starting on June 29 (Nice to Rome and then Rome to Nice) Is anyone else booked on either of these trips? Has anyone been on these excursions in the past? Any favorite shore excursions?
The balconies are just to step out on. You have a full-length sliding glass door that opens wide. There is a clear glass balustrade with a teak cap you can lean out on--you can see along the side of the ship. The balcony is just a step, really. The key is the open air, sunlight coming into the sitting area of the suite. At night, in port, with the balcony open and your waiter serving you dinner as you watch the harbor lights across the bay...well, it''s pretty amazing.

The funny thing about these baclconies is that they don't sound like much, but they really do about as much as any balcony. No, you aren't technically sitting on the balcony, but you are still getting all the sunshine and fresh air, and the sound of the waves going by...
