Re: Re: Celebration 12/9?

We took this cruise to the Bahamas last month. The last 'fun day' at sea was the roughest cruise I have ever experienced. Everything else was great, but be prepared with lots of seasick remedies. ...

Re: Re: have you seen

What happened on the Celebration? I was just on that cruise Nov 11th. The last 'fun' day at sea was so rough, I was about to jump ship myself! I didn't hear of anyone actually falling overboard,...

Re: beach in nassau

We were in Nassau from early morning until Midnight. We took Bus 10A to Breezes ($1), walked up to the front desk, and bought day passes ($60). Entitles you to all-inclusive privileges from 10 am...

Re: do-it-yourself shore excursions

For Aruba, we booked the Kukunukoo Bus Tour on-line directly with the tour company. We paid $30 less than the people who booked thru the ship; other than that the differences were transparent. It...

Re: Re: Re: Re: Where do I put my luggage in San Juan?

We just checked it there in February. They have a special room for it. The only thing bad about it was going from the ship to the airport, then back to Isla Verde, then back to the airport again...

Re: Re: Where do I put my luggage in San Juan?

You can also check your luggage at the airport. It's a few dollars per bag, but worth it. Then grab a cab or hotel shuttle to one of the resorts right on the beach (we went to the Marriott in Isla...

Re: Re: Re: Best things to do in Dominica?

We did a bus tour with Reynold (Reynotours). It was a lot of time spent in a van navigating twisting, narrow and bumpy roads up and down hills. We stopped at the emerald pool, which required a...

Re: Place to stay in San Juan

Try one of the El Canario 'boutique' properties (they have a website). They are usually very reasonable, especially for a weekend rate. It will cost you around $20 to get to the pier, depending on...

Re: Re: illegal substaces?

Shubaby - I was just throwing in the breast feeders to make my point - what's good for the goose is NOT always good for the gander - get it? And by the way, I am not high, but hard at work at a job...

Re: Re: illegal substaces?

I have to agree with Erwin. You people need to lighten up! If you think smoking a little pot is the worst thing taking place on your cruise, you need to look around a bit! When it comes to...

Re: destiny ports

We spent the day at the beach in both ports. We hit Boombay Beach in Barbados, and in Aruba we took the public bus to Eagle Beach, got off at the Holiday Inn. There's a great little beach bar in...

Re: Re: Re: cigarettes

I had trouble finding my brand in the ports, but on the ship it was only $32 for two cartons.

Re: Re: Re: Question Re: alcohol

We boarded for the Destiny in San Juan, and there was a Bacardi rum shop right outside the entrance. They convinced us it was okay to bring a bottle aboard, they even guaranteed that we would not be...

Re: Re: Sending gifts to a guest??

I called Princess yesterday to order champagne for my friends' honeymoon cruise. Although the ordering process went very smoothly, I was disappointed to learn they will not have a nice bottle on ice...

Re: Re: Excursion in Dominica...anyone want in?

Chris, we used Reynold and we had a terrific time! He is fun and knows his island well, and he's also very flexible as to what you accomplish on your tour. We pretty much took a vote on what...

Re: Re: lunch the very first day?

I think room service does not kick in until later that night, maybe even after midnight. It was not available on the Destiny until after we set sail. There are always people on the ship who take...

Re: Re: water colors

We tendered ashore in Grand Cayman, and sitting in the tender boat next to the huge ship, the water was so incredibly deep blue that it really looked fake. By far the most beautifully-colored water...

Re: party spots on islands?

t j - Unfortunately, most ships depart for the next port earlier than the 'wild partying' begins. Your best bet for daytime fun is at a Margaritaville, Senor Frogs, or Carlos & Charlies. Not sure...

Re: Re: Re: Destiny shore excursions

I forgot to say when Aruba, definitely do the Kukoo Kunuku bus - it's a lot of fun and a great way to meet even more of your shipmates. You can book on-line thru DePalm tours for $55/person (vs. $79...

Re: Re: Destiny shore excursions

We LOVED Dominica, maybe because we had pre-booked an island tour with Reynold (reynotours@hotmail.com). For $30/person, he picked us up at the ship and drove us all over the island. We stopped at...

Re: Re: What is the best way to get to Margaritaville?

Margaritaville is in the heart of Downtown MoBay - you can easily catch a cab from the docks. It is a LOT of fun, but good weather is a factor because it's literally on the beach and there are...

Re: All Inclusive resorts Dominica / Aruba

Dominica is not a resort-type of island, in fact on our tour we didn't even see a beach! For kids, you could do the river tubing, that looked like fun. We booked a tour with Reynold...

Re: Re: Re: websites please

We were just there. In St. Thomas we booked a tour with Godfrey Tours, and it was okay. Most people recommend taking the ferry to St. John instead, but that depends on what you want to do and see. ...
