La Guaira

I've heard that Princess has not been calling at La Guaira lately, yet the port is still on many itineraries. Has anyone been to La Guaira lately on a cruise, or should I just expect to be re-routed...

Re: Summit Attire & Dress Codes

Re: Monarch Dinner Seatings

Most everyone dresses up. I saw no men without ties, although there were just a couple without a jacket.

Re: Monarch of the Sea - Ensenada

I've taken this cruise many times. You'll have a terrifc time.

The first night, the dress code is a joke. The second night, people really make an effort to look nice. Most of the men wear tuxedos...

Re: Yeah ! Levis are back !

Clo, I completely agree with you. It is the host that sets the attire standards. Like you, when my invitations say black tie, then I expect black tie, because I expect my guests to respect my wishes....

Cruises Calling at La Guaira

Are there any ships that will call at La Guaira this or next year? I really want to go see Angel Falls on my next cruise, so I want to find a ship calling at that port.

Re: Is Johnny Rockets free on the Voyager?

Originally, the Voyager had a surcharge, but it was removed due to unpopularity. I guess they will just try it again.

Re: Who has the best or worst food?

Well I can tell you that of all the cruises I have taken, the worst cuisine was aboard Royal Olympic's Daphne (long time ago) and Carnival's Holiday. That one cruise has made me decide to never sail...

Re: Which do you prefer, personal choice or assigned dining.

I prefer assigned seating. That way, my waiter knows me by name and always serves me my favorite beverage without even asking. I guess its the personalized service I like best.

Re: Opinion on teenage attire

It all depends on your ship's dress code. Your son, 16, is almost an adult, and has to realize that in the adult world, certain standard of dress are required at times. However, if either of your...

Re: No Smoking!!

I'm a non smoker, and I live in California. I dislike smoking and don't allow it in my house, but by no means do I feel I have the right to push my way of life on a smoker. I also respect personal...

Re: Yeah ! Levis are back !

There is a time and place for everything. I don't believe that jeans are any way appropriate for evening dining. Don't get me wrong, I love jeans. In fact, I'm wearning jeans as I type. But for me,...

Re: Formal nights on Grand Princess

Cunard will be more fancy, but your dresses for QM2 will be just fine for Grand Princess.

Re: Is Coke free in the Dining Room?

In the past, sodas were free on RCCL. But today, the line, like many others, has resorted to nickel and diming for practically everything.

I do find it funny that iced tea costs more to produce...
