We spent 8/12-8/14 at Copper River lodge and could not see the Wrangell-St. Elias mountains because of the smoke. We saw smoke on the White Pass road in Skagway also. It was hazy most of our trip.

Yes, I verified this and they do charge $30 per ticket. It bothers me that the TA didn't tell me this. This was the first time that I didn't book airline tickets myself. I will always book them...

We're looking at the flight tour to Kennicott and then on to McCarthy with Wrangell Mountain air. We're also thinking about the helicopter trips in Juneau and a flight seeing trip to Misty Fjords....
