Re: What time to be at Port of Miami?

Well guessing is fun, let's see how close we can come? I would say about 3:30pm. I would say 4pm but Shoreguy already took my choice. lOL

Re: Pride of Aloha problems

Patty, mostly I agree with you. I do think some negatives are over exaggerated from time to time same as some positives are clouded by what a cruiser wants to believe. I don't believe the majority of...

gripe of all gripes

My biggest gripe is people who gripe all the time!! Have any of you noticed this is the most read and responded thread of all, or I think it is. That's pretty sad! What does it say about us? We are...

Re: Re: Pride of Aloha problems

it's amazing: 2 cruisers, same ship, same dates and yet 100% opposite in views. I will always wonder how this can happen? I guess it's the glass half full or half empty. The reviewer back one thread,...

Re: NCL customer service

Some who have cruised several times and are objective will say just what I have said for awhile now: customer service period isn't what it should be, not just NCL, cruise lines or hotels. The...

Re: Mandatory tipping ALL NCL ships

I am not about to argue with you on whether your beds are changed at top hotels or not, but I will tell you last time we were at the Waldorf (a little over a year ago) they were not, nor were they at...

Re: Star vs. Sun ?

Monti, you should be excited and the Star sailing in and out of Seattle is a plus. We did the Vancouver and Anchorage thing about 5 years ago. Not only is there a savings your way flying out of...

Re: Re: Mandatory tipping ALL NCL ships

Dalwhitt, send me to my room, you are right she didn't say daily, and I should have been more clear, hotels and ships do not change sheets period during a 7 day cruise unless you insist. I should...

Re: Mandatory tipping ALL NCL ships

Dalwhitt, that's my point< I can't argue about something I haven't witness nor should you. I picked that line because beds are not changed daily. As for beds not being made, I have seen this of very...

Re: Mandatory tipping ALL NCL ships

Why would you have to change your sheets? Do you change them at home everyday? Hotels, from 5 star on down as weill as cruise ships do not change sheets everyday anymore. They haven't for many years....

Re: Re: Re: neg.comments

Fat and cruising, you sound like a good friend of ours that just did her first cruise about the same time as you. She did the 12 dayer, Carnival to Hawaii. She had a blast and yes, she is very much...

Re: Pay restaurants

I would ask the same question, but regardless I think everyone should try one of the specialty restaurants. I have known some who do not and are perfectly happy, but I just think they are so...

Re: Mandatory tipping ALL NCL ships

Jim, I normally agree with you on about everything, but not this time. Do I love the idea of not controlling my tips or whatever you want to call them? No, but also realize this is the custom in many...

Re: Star vs. Sun ?

I haven't cruised the Star, but can guarentee you $800 isn't worth it. The Sun is an awesome ship. It would be almost impossible to pick it apart. Do the Sun and use the extra bucks in the casino,...

Re: Which cruise line would you recommend to a friend and wh

venice, Very good point there! What I would recommend would depend on their likes and dislikes; no two of us are alike. If they want a little pampering and a little more upscale adventure and still...

Re: Mandatory tipping ALL NCL ships

This issue has been hashed over on all threads for the past 2 weeks or more. Let's face it, for those who are upset there are zillions of other lines out there, my guess is it really will not inpact...

Re: NCL Dream info. HELP...!!!

Tom, I like your attitude. Much of what people get out of any experience is what they put into it and what they expect to get out of it. I agree, no bad cruises. There are some that rate way above...

Re: Why are some people so hard on kid cruisers

I agree about cruising being more an adult activity same as Vegas is for adults that want to be kids for a few days, but I also think there are exceptions and times are changing. The most important...

Re: Computers on Pride of Aloha

dalwhitt, one the Sky a year ago (now POA) it did cost $12 but most of that was the initial hook up. It was a one time charge and we used it 3 or 4 times. I don't know if this is still true. Yes, it...

We have earned that RIGHT! Lol, seriously, I know it seems seniors can be rude, I don't think I fall into that catagory. I will say, the tatoo thing does bother lots of people, not just seniors. I...

Re: Travelers on special rates they don't qualify for

Talk about discimination: offer it only to those who book such and such. I disagree with this! While still a TA I always advised the passengers of what would be required. We also covered it in the...

Re: Why are some people so hard on kid cruisers

I don't think most of us blanketly find kids a pain on cruise ships or elsewhere. I was on one cruise where there were kids everywhere and for the most part they were not the best behaved. I still...

I would have to think pointers may be helpful, but running a restaurant and running a ship are a bit different I would think. Of course I have never ran either just think my kitchen is a restaurant...
