Re: tipping makes staff rich?

The Officers are all on salary so I wouldn't have thought they would get any tips at all. You would then have to find out the ratio of Officers to service staff on the ship to work out their share...

Re: Star Princess Australia/NZ Who else is going?

Hi all,

45 deg C is high but I did say it was our 'hottest' day last summer (and it was awful), not every day was that hot but we had many days between 35 - 40 too so be prepared for hot days. Of...

Re: Forget about luggage locks!

I do agree about the baggage handlers as we had one of our bags damaged after handing it over the Princess staff in Anchorage. The bag belonged to a friend and I've had to get it repaired, luckily...

Re: Cruise Train Anchorage to Seward

We took the bus trip to Seward from Anc and didn't get to the cruise ship until around 4:30 - 5pm. What a waste of a day!! Hence we did not get to see any of Seward (wanted to see Sea...

Re: Railroad and bike tour

Many think this is an accident waiting to happen... cycling down the only main road in/out of Skagway. Also if it's rainy and cold it won't be too much fun as the road becomes slippery. Tour guides...

Re: Any moose around?

OK that probably explains why we didn't see any on the coastal trail. It was a very hot afternoon and there was a Fathers Day thing on in Kincaid Park so this is probably why we saw no moose on this...
