Parasailing in Cozumel - Is it Safe?

My 14 year old son and I are going to be in Cozumel (Carnival Inspiration) and are looking at doing the parasailing through shoretrips.com. I contacted a Carnival Cruise
representative yesterday about another shore excursion and I mentioned that I was planning on booking the parasailing excursion through shoretrisp.com (it is not offered through the ship). The Carnival rep said she STRONGLY urged me to reconsider. She said one of the reasons Carnival does not offer that excursion in Cozumel is because they do not think any of the vendors in that port are safe enough for Carnival to use. She said that is something I should do in Florida if I really want to do it, but she really thinks its a bad idea to parasail in Cozumel. Anyone ever do the parasail in Cozumel? Any input would be greatly appreciated!

Just got back and heard the same thing. We did it in Key West and we were so satisfied. We went through Sebago watersports. Top-notch Company. Many people told us it was terrible to do it in Mexico. Glad we had a good experience. Cost was great too, only 38.00.

My son and I have parasailed in P.V. many times and never had a problem.
