all depends upon what time your ship docks, and how quickly the ship clears customs, you might be able to get in an hour or two at the beach, a good beach to try would be Coki Beach or Emerald Beach, both a short cab ride from the pier.
Check out www.vinow.com for some really good info on St. Thomas.
Depending upon how long your excursion is and what time you sail, you might look into going to the beach after your excursion, just make sure that you are back ON BOARD 1 hour prior to sailing, the ship will not wait for you.

thanks for the help. We leave St.Thomas at 6pm so I don't think after would work. We arrive at 8 am I didn't know we had to go to customs first. This is first stop. Going on Carribbean Princess on Saturday.

eventhough you won't be aware of it, your ship has to clear customs in every port that it docks. In St. Thomas you personally will have to go thru immigration IF your ship has docked in a foregin port before docking in St. Thomas, its confusing. Its a simple process that doesn't take very long if all passengers cooperate and have all information filled out and have documents handy.

What do you have to fill out.
We will be on the Glory, leaving Florida and stopping at Nassau, and then on to St. Thomas.............what do we do write down what we bought at Nassau....seems a little silly when we will do it over again back in Florida a few days later.
