Default Snorkeling in St. Maarten

Does anyone know of any beaches on St. Maarten where one could go snorkeling from shore without needing to boat to a destination to see stuff (fish, coral etc.)?

Although I have not done it , I am told there is decent snorkelling off the beach at Dawn Beach. I can attest to it being a great beach with just enough in the way of facilities and food and drink, we just never snorkelled there ourselves.
