We just did what they call, the canopy tour in Montego Bay, Jamaica. It was a gas, would d it again in a second. Be aware, at least at this one, we were zipping through some very high trees and over a river, but it was so cool.

I have noticed this kind of excursion is turning up all over, although I really enjoyed this one.

you have to be very careful which company you choose, this type of excursion is becoming hugely popular and operators are popping up all over the palce. The company you want to do business with is "The Original Canopy Tour" they "patented" for lack of a better word this type of excursion have been doing it for quite sometime and have a very good safety & customer satisfaction record.

This is a excursion offered by RCCL in St. Maarten. It just seems new and like they are jumping on the hot new thing. I was hoping to hear from someone that has done this one. My daughter really wants to try a zip line tour and this is the only one offered on this cruise.
What do you think? Should we go for it?

We did this on our own in Jan 2006. We rented a car and went there and got there when it opened about 0900. It was fun it was an adventure course with some zip lines. It took alittle over an hour to do. If there is a group from cruise ship they won't take you till group is done.It is not true zip lining like in Costa Rica. You climb rope ladders, rope swings and then zip from tree platform to tree platform. You wear a harness and have a safety line attached at all times. Need to be in good health and able to tolerate heat. It gets hot doing the course and we did it early in the morning. It was 40$ a person. the ship charged 80 with transportation. You have to tell them you are with Carnival ship at least at that time carnival did not offer. They have contract with RCCL and will not take you if you tell them you are on that ship. Hope this helps. I would do this again when on St Martin.
