Best Snorkeling? St Thomas, St Martin or Grand Turk?
Hi all, we'll be on the Emerald Princess Thanksgiving week, which goes to Princess Cays, St. T, St M, and Grand Turk with our 21-yr old daughter and her friend. The girls would like to snorkel. Where do you recommend of our stops would have the best snorkeling with vibrant colors? We've been to St T and St M a number of times and have gone to beaches, and last year in St T went on the "shipwreck" snorkel (which we thought was just OK), but wanted to know if anyone had any particular recommendations. We have snorkeled on West Caribbean which seemed to have better "prettier" snorkeling, so maybe we were spoiled? Either via ship excursion or reliable private excursion. -
Thanks very much - appreciate your thoughts! 8)
If you have the time in St. Thomas, either take a ship tour or go yourself to St. Johns, some really good snorkeling, well worth the time. St. John's is a beautiful island itself and nice to go see, several beach to choose from. I've been to Trunk Bay a few times to snorkel and they have a marked trail underwater there, pretty cool.
I haven't been to Grand Turk, so no idea if there is good snorkeling.
You might also want to consider the private island. I have not been to Princess Cay, but those owned by other cruise lines have great snorkeling. Often have eqipment for rent on the beach.
