Does everyone have a preferred hotel in Miami to stay? I certainly won't stay again were Catrice, Amy and I stayed last so I looking to book something convenient to the port, any suggestons?

Oh what a nice change from the heat and humidity! NYC is shining like a jewel today!
For a hotel in Miami, downtown is best. The Holiday Inn Bayside, where Mary and Duke stayed last time, is a good choice. I might stay there as well. If you are wanting something more upscale, then the Hotel Intercontinental is another good choice. Depending on timing, you might get a good deal there using Priceline. Lets see, I think also the Marriott is an excellent choice but pricey and I don't think you can get it using Priceline. Someone please correct me if I am wrong.
Heather, what is going on with your plans for Key West? Were you able to find something reasonable during that time frame? I don't know why, but prices for hotels during this time frame seem a little inflated. Is there a holiday during that time that I am not aware of? Or perhaps is spring break still going on during that time. Not sure.
The week before we are arriving is their "National" Conch Celebration. There is some funny history behind that and would be a bit long to explain this. Must be alot of fun though. But that is why some hotel prices are up there. I did find a B&B for 106 a night and they have 8 rooms available. It seems as if Jamie, Lila, Daris and I are the only ones up for the Key West plans as of now. There seems to be a general concern of missing the ship on Sunday. Let's face it...that would be awful. I am actually thinking of flying in on Thursday now and staying in the Keys till Saturday morning and then spending the night in Miami on Saturday and hanging out with all you crazy people. Maybe some of you would be interested in KW for those 2 days. The more I read about KW the more excited I get about what all there is to do there. I went to Borders to get info on the Keys and they are gorgeous.
I will be starting a new post about the upcoming adventure since it is only 9 short months away. Ok I am trying to delude myself into thinking this is right around the corner. lol
OK I feel stupid but I cant remember who Born2Cruise is??? My mind is turning to mush already from thinking of the next adventure.

Rosalie - I was able to change my November Holiday Inn Bayside downtown Biscayne Blvd -booking to April 29th. . This is pinkie's choice too and she will be watching the tail of Carnival Valor come to port behind Bay Marketplace.
Now I need to make the plane reservations. I am so annoyed at US Scare - they wanted $354 to change my November flight to April (it is past the 12 month booking date) So, I found AA for $226 - flew them first time to Alaska in June and they were more friendly than US Scare has ever been and I have flown them for 11 years now.
Hi all - finally got Bobbie to get booked - yea!!!!! We booked through Carnival but I am going to call the TA you are using and get a quote. Due to the fact that we book the 1A we usually don't get any kind of break but doesn't hurt to check. Miss all of you. Katie
Love the sting ray picture. Yes I kept the 1A ocean view that I booked with Carnival. Am even able to do the fly aweigh program. Was very pleased with this person. And yes, where is Chetter and Duke. Katie
