Default Cruising solo is the only way to go for me

FIrst off, it is more expensive, but that is the cost one has to pay for a decent night sleep!

I went last year with my mother and lets just say she snores loud enough to wake the dead. I went alone in September and slept wonderfully each and every night. We just got off the Conquest and you guessed it, I was functioing on 3-4 hours of sleep a night, at best. I was fed up and would get up somewhere between 5-6am and be up until I couldn't stay awake anymore around 10:30pm. She snored even louder this time. I admit, like many people out there, I snore, but lightly.

One other irk I had was a twin bed, it is too small to stretch out on. I tend to spread out my arms over the bed and after an hour or two of that I'd wake up and felt like I just overdid it at the gym!!!!!! I like having a big bed all to myself!!!

The next cruise is a solo and the cruise I won last week will also be a solo cruise. I know, I could take someone, but they'd have to sleep on the couch!!!!!!!! Dunno where I'll go for the free cruise, but it will be in January 2009

Since I'm not very big, I would also be happy to sleep on the couch or in the same cabin with someone who snores (in my own twin bed!) if the cruise was free! I've never met anyone who snores louder than my sister and I would be happy to share a cabin with her, and I have never been told that I snore. I can catch up on sleep when I get home, I sleep in a big bed all by myself at home and thus get plenty of sleep, sometimes too much

I don't think he/she actually invited either of us, and No I would not share a cabin with a man I'd never met even if the cruise was free!

Default relax and enjoy

Totally cool.
I am a solo cruiser myself.
I booked the Ruby and Crown Princess 1/17/2009 and 1/25/2009.
Both Western and Eastern Caribbean.
The Ruby will be built and sailing this November. New ship.
I hear you about sleeping and streaching out.
I enjoy my privacy. don't get me wrong. A partner would be wonderful, but too many varibles to take a chance on.

My e-mail is danielraessner@yahoo.com

Cheers
Danny

Default CRUISING SOLO

WHAT CRUISE DID YOU WIN. I SAW THAT IT IS IN JANUARY. DID YOU WIN THE SOP OPERA CRUISE FROM JAN 22-THRU 26 ON THE CELEBRITY CENTURY. I AGREE ABOUT TRAVELING ALONE. THE SINGLE RATE FOR THE SOAP OPERA CRUISE IS HIGH, BUT IT IS THE PRICE I PAY FOR TRAVELING AS A SINGLE. I AM EVEN GOING TO NEW YORK IN AUGUST BY MYSELF SINCE I HAD A ROOMIE FROM HELL 2 YEARS AGO IN FLORIDA

Default SINGLE CRUISE

I FORGOT TO MENTION ALSO IF I WON THE CRUISE I WOULD NOT TAKE ANY OF MY FRIENDS, THEY WOULD PROBABLY BEG ME TO TAKE ONE OF THEM WITH ME BUT I WOULDN'T TAKE ANYBODY UNLESS IT WAS BOYFRIEND AND THAT IS NOT GOING TO HAPPEN. I WOULD ASK FOR AN UPGRADE INSTEAD OF TAKING A ROOMIE.

Just returned from my Destiny cruise where I had a travel companion (separate cabins). All in all, I gained nothing by coordinating my cruise with this person. It was no one thing just many small things that made this experience one that I will not likely repeat.

Solo cruising is what works for me. It is not for everyone but it is definitely a winner with me.
