VTG singles cruise

Hi all,
Brand new to your site and I have a question. My buddy and I are going on the Dec 6 VTG over 40 cruise and we will be in the Fort Lauderdale area for 3 days prior to the cruise. We were wondering what hotel you would reccomend that is close to Port Everglades? Also if anyone has any advice or tips we would greatly appreciate it. Both of us are divorced, mid 40s, and I talked him into trying this cruise as we are first timers to a singles cruise. Anyway looks like this is a great site and we appreciate you taking time to add your two cents. Have a great week!

The Sheraton Yankee Clipper is a 2 minute drive to the Port (although too far to walk) and is right on the beach and within walking distance to bars and shops.
