Default Velvet pants and dark jean questions-

I have some cool velvet pants. Im bored wearing my regular dress pants at dinner, my cruise goes to Mexico but dinner is always on the ship at night. Do you think Velvet pants are too wintery to wear on a tropical cruise?
Also Im thinking of bringing some black and dark jeans, and dressing them up with a nice blouse , funky belt and heels, do you think that would be ok to wear at dinner on a Carnival cruise? The jeans are very nice not torn or ripped.

since you are cruising at the end of October, velvet pants with a dressy/sparkly blouse would be perfect for formal nights.
Carnival allows you to wear nice jeans on casual nights.

Velvet pants or tops should be fine (I love velvet myself). As far as jeans are concerned, why beat a dead horse, until the cruiselines specifically ban jeans from the formal dining rooms, people will continue to wear them and even if they are banned, they will still wear them.

This is strictly my p.o.v... but my feeling is, this is the tropics, velvet is left for colder climates. To me it would be like wearing it to a wedding in Florida..JMHO.....
