What do guys look for??

ok im going on my first cruise on sep. 6. 04 and my mom saids that its real easy to meet people but this is coming from an adult so i know that things work different with teens so like i was reading the boad on " Any boy meet a really hot girl on a cruise and what happend" and you guys have like a ton of stories and its all beeen kind of helpful but i've also come too understand that all most all the guys at my school are into the real toothpick thin girls who are hot and i was wondering how a girl like me whos not toothpick thin yet not a huge over weight person(no offence too anyone) could get a guy on my cruise to notice me like is it really true that i can just walk right up to guys and other people and just start talking and then will start hanging out more well please help thx
