Default What to Wear on Alaska cruise?

Help. I am female and I live in Florida. Our family is going to Alaska in June on the Carnival Spirit. I have cruised before A LOT and I know what to wear on the tropical cruises but I don't know a thing about what to wear on Alaska cruises. I don't have hardly any winter clothes, just a couple of thick hoodies and a fleece-lined athletic rain jacket.

What can I get by with without blowing a huge amount of money? There will be a laundry on the ship so I can do some wash. Also, what do you wear on formal night, isn't it kind of cold to wear spaghetti strap dresses and stuff? How about ondeck? IT must be really cold!

Please help. Thanks SOOOO much!

Take it from someone who LIVES in Alaska. Believe it or not.... Alaska can get very warm here. It's only the winters that are cold like people believe. Although it is warm in the summer, it can also be rainy. So...... I would pack ...
~a raincoat
~You can DEFINATELY get by with a hoodie
~t-shirts
~jeans
~shorts if you want
on formal nights
~a dress, but not a sundress.... a long one.

Like I said before, Alaska isn't REALLY cold until the winter months. It can be VERY pleasant in the summer. It is truly beautiful up here in the summer.
Hope I helped and have fun!

ps.... Alaskans live in HOUSES, not igloos. haha lol We do not have moose as pets, although they like to come into your yard!! I have seen wolves, bald eagles, moose, bear (there was one around my school last year... scary!), and many other animals up here! So also pack a camera!
