"It's just so much work to figure out what you are trying to say.
Your problem not mine,
So we have all these perfect people that feel that they have the right to DISS others,,,, that is what I am saying. What gives any of them the right to laugh at people or point fingers? Are you and others so perfect in everyway, in body, soul and “supposed social acceptability to others, when compared to those targeted?
No way…. The problem is some people are just shoving their own insecurities towards others…because it will deflect their own “inability in life and their faults.
Question: Who with a balanced approach to life and a social understanding of those around them, feels the need in their life to target others? Why do that?
So what I mean is it easier to laugh at someone else, than look at yourself and your problems and how others may see you as a person.
I guess that most that do most of this “lets laugh at someone else, do it because it takes the heat off them and a scenario of “look at them instead of me
Lets just laugh at the old, crippled or fat person, it’s easier than personal reality.
It was a constructive suggestion.

Back to the topic...it really is no ones business if an overweight person is wearing a bikini or sexy clothing. Because that same overweight person in a bikini can turn around and look at you and find something wrong with you. Nobody is perfect and we all have flaws!
If you don't like the clothing choice of overweight women just turn away it is that simple.
Have a great evening everyone!

RInker my friend you don't have to look at the baggy thong.
I do think people should select clothing for their body type.
However it they don't it is really none of my business.
Clothing style is all a preference just like picking a cruise is!
Have a great day all!

From the tone of your posts, it is almost as though you feel a need to defend what needs no defense. It is everyone right to wear what they want. It is also everyone's right to have an option. If their opinion is on how you look in a particular outfit, as long as they don't cross the line and tell you how they think you look, what harm is done? To take the position that "it is none of anyone's business" is a given but is also a bit prickly and sensitive. Unless, of course, it hits home.
I was once on a beach in Long Island, NY. There were two women on the beach. They were obviously mother/daughter. The mother looked to be well over 60. Both had on thong bikinis. While the daughter looked a bit naked but ok, the mother looked ridiculous. It was obvious that she was very proud of her body (very wrinkled but trim) and felt she could still pull off the "nearly naked" look. However, considering this was a family beach, the sight of this senior citizen walking around the beach in full view of many many children in a bathing suit where her entire rear end was exposed was not APPROPRIATE. It was obscene, pornography, repulsive and just pathetic. The bathing suit would have been fine for a private pool party or something less public but for a woman as old as this lady obviously was and to wear such a naked look at a crowd public beach was in such bad taste.
We have all seen from time to time people in "inappropriate" attire. "Inappropriate" may just be in our opinion but "inappropriate" none the less.

I have read this thread and I have to say. None of this bares in mind the difficulty some women have in finding a suit. Women with unusual body shapes have more trouble finding swim wear. If your top is bigger then normal a one piece will never fit correctly. I embarked on swimwear search 2008. I went to 13 different stores searching for a proper fit. If I gave up and picked a suit that kind of worked, you would be saying this stuff about me. I was determined to get a suit I felt comfortable in or I wasn't getting one at all. Thank goodness for the internet. It's a good thing I started the search early. Some of these women in "questionable" swim wear may have been under a time constrict and had to settle on a suit. Judge not lest ye be judged.

You know, I've not gone to the pool on my last 3 cruises..2 of them in the Carribean because after reading these threads I was too embarrassed to take my shirt off in public for fear of being judged.
I've decided that I no longer give a rodents rump (that's rat's ass but politically correct) and will be sportin' the gut on my next cruise so as to enjoy a little sunshine. It's good for the sole
So for all you overly judgemental people I will give you fair warning....my next cruise is listed on the bottom of my signature and you can all avoid that particular cruise so as to preserve your eyesight for future travels.
A swimsuit instead of a bikini if overweight, a sarong covering legs as well when walking the ship, as I mentioned in my post, its not difficult or expensive..if you can afford to cruise you can afford good clothes

It's not difficult in England, but harder in america. There were some wonderful UK websites for fun, functional, and pretty swim wear I couldn't afford the shipping. However, going into the stores (including Macy's in Union Square San Francisico CA) I could find nothing.

I was confused by some of your post. You seem to be saying it's okay to make fun of the way people dress as long as you do it behind their back. Also it was a mother and daugther wearing thongs on a family beach but only the mother was dressed inappropriate because she was a senior citizen. I would think if this is a family beach both the mother and daugther were dressed inappropriate regardless of age.

Its amazing isn't it, with respect, there are lots of over weight people in the USA too, with your huge portion sizes... you would think USA would cater for everyone overthere!
I am a bit overweight and would never ever wear shorts, sorry..but you see a lots of women in them who are twice my size, personally I think a lightweight skirt covering tops of legs or a sundress is much more attractive for example.
Sue
p,s, your a pretty lady anyway and I'm sure you always look lovely!

Okay, I will take this onboard....... "I would so much enjoy your posts if you would take the time (as you just did) to make them more readable"
So, I try to be like that, but sometimes a subject makes my brain "fizz" so much regarding what I am reading, that my response does not always reflect brain thought moving to finger action...it makes sense to me at the time
IBCRUZIN, a question if you don’t mind regarding .."However, considering this was a family beach, the sight of this senior citizen walking around the beach in full view of many children in a bathing suit where her entire rear end was exposed was not APPROPRIATE.
Question: What this person was wearing that showed their old and aging butt, can I ask were they the only female person on that beach in such attire?
Trying to determine if this was an age thing (dont like to see it) or a decency thing?

You go for it, just watch out for the weirdo's that feel that they have to take a photo at the unveiling …. Ah well, how some others get their kicks on a cruise eh
What makes some people feel the need or want to take pictures of others like the ones we seen above,,,that amazes me.
Thank you Sue you are sweet. I almost moved to England. I did find a tankini and swim shorts duo on the internet that fit. The top is one size larger then the bottom. I'm a UK size E cup bra so that was the big problem. I don't like my legs to the swim shorts have an inseam of 5 3/4 inches they come to my knee. However, now that I have read this site I decide to chuck it and get a bikini thong.

DayvidB I analysis California Legislation for a living so you made perfect sense to me. To answer your question both women were wearing bikini thongs, but only the older one was dressed inappropriate for the family beach. Go figure.

I do agree with you on the 60 year old wrinkled women in a tiny bikini. I'm just saying that I don't care what people are wearing. And I do see it all the time the women [overweight/underweight/ older] with the tiny swimsuit, overweight women with tiny jeans and cut off shirts although it is winter now here but spring is around the corner and all the extra meat will be haning out soon! Whatever I don't care. I can't change peoples choices on clothing.
Have a great day everyone!

Hi Kat,, nice to speak, but I did not ask you the question it was IBCRUZIN!
See now I am confused, so we have two women now involved. But I thought my question was about one older person.
David edit
Okay your right, there were two women...sorry, one old and one younger, So on a "family beach" it was acceptable for a young firm ass to be on show, but not an older one,,,,mmmmm.
Hey kids if you are lucky enough to grow older, then one day your ass could look like this.... Hey it's life and education. Why should I or anyone else be ashamed of how our bodies are now compared to when we where 20...we should not be as its nature and life and it covers a spectrum, cant hide from it.
